Version 3.9 of KioWare for Android is now available! This version adds features for interactive digital signage and is a game-changer for mobile device management by adding support for Samsung KNOX functionality.

Version 3.9 of KioWare for Android is available in models Lite, Basic, and Full with Kiosk Management.

All three models of KioWare for Android have added or improved a number of features which apply specifically to Samsung devices using KNOX Standard 5.1 and above. KNOX is Samsung’s enterprise grade security that is anchored in the hardware of your Samsung device.

There is now a Samsung KNOX tab in the KioWare configuration tool. Here are the features specific to Samsung KNOX:

• Option to hide the navigation bar, which completely eliminates access to any standard device navigation
• Ability to disable the power off, airplane mode, and restart options; these are standard on any Samsung tablet
• Option to restrict or allow use of the USB drive and SD card access
• Disable the physical power button
• Disable access to the home icon and menu
• Disable the volume button and ability to physically change device volume

KioWare Full for Android offers more advanced features for mobile device management.

Using Samsung KNOX, KioWare Full for Android also adds the ability to:

• Remotely reboot the device
• Remotely update and install applications

In addition to the Samsung KNOX functionality, more features were added to all three KioWare models – Lite, Basic, and Full.
KioWare Lite for Android now offers the ability to set an individual attract screen URL to override the start page URL.  This allows kiosk users to interact with attract screens being shown and be taken to a page specific to that screen. This is a useful feature when displaying advertising as attract screens, so kiosk users are directed to your advertiser’s content.

“Stay on page” mode has also been added. Both of these features are found in the Attract/Inactivity tab of the KioWare configuration tool.
KioWare Basic for Android has all of the features of KioWare Lite plus supports external devices and mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) EMV certified payment processing through CaseEaseMobile. This feature has been updated to version 1.12, named Trinity, of the CardEaseMobile framework. 

KioWare Full for Android adds all of that plus supports remotely wiping and resetting Android devices via the Kiosk Management Console. This is a critical feature for mobile device management.           

Kiosk Management options for KioWare Full for Android include KioWare Server or KioCloud. KioWare Server has been updated to version 4.9.1 to support the new KioWare Full features. KioCloud supports the latest version of KioWare Server.
